My 3 year old put my keys somewhere (she said they walked away) and they haven't turned up for a week.
Can someone post pics of their original 69 keys including alarm key?
I was on eBay looking at NOS E and H keys and seem to recall that the E and H were stamped square on my original keys and the are stamped diagonally on the one I see online. The alarm key also looks a bit different.
Thanks
Gary

The 69 keys are standard GM keys and the 69 has an E stamped at the base of the square ignition key that also unlocks the doors. The round key has an H at the base and is used for the spare tire lock and center box behind the seats. You can find the "original" labeled blanks on fleabay for under 10 bucks for the pair. My original keys are a bit crooked on the E and H stamp.
The alarm key on the 69 is interesting. It was not GM but was actually labeled Briggs and Stratton as they made the alarm lock. My original 69 alarm key is below.

Found the link below as it's just as easy to replace the whole switch as try and get someone to key it.

Thanks for the pic. Alarm key is slightly different than most of the keys on ebay.
Can you post a pic of one of your original E/H keys? I edited my original post. The keys on ebay seem to be "stamped" at an angle. My extra set is stamped squared.
Luckily I have an extra set that I can copy. My alarm key was generic so your pic answered my questions. My 63 keys were on the same ring.
You know this will be a keeper to use when she is 16 years old.
" Dad , can I please drive your corvette to my friends house ? " Sure dear, you find the keys you lost 13 years ago, and you can drive the corvette.
remove door lock, get key code from lock body.
take key code to any good locksmith, they will curt a perfect new key from the code.
No lock required, take with you to test.
This must not be true for all 69s. I have an early 69 and my square key will not actuate the door. Only the ignition. The round key the opposite. And you can tell by looking at them, they are close but still noticeably different.

NCRS '69-'69 Tech & Judging guide says that the 69 used a rectangular-head shaped key to operate the ignition and doors.
I think 69Vett is spot on for a quick solution to your problem.
Luckily I have an extra set. Want to buy original blanks but seems like the ones for sale in market are not quite the same as originals.
The original GM keys had a punch out plug. With the plug that comes with the keys, the hole through the key for a ring is very small. The idea is to punch out the plug;...the outline of the plug can be seen on each blank key. Now....the repro keys...the outline of the punchable plug is there, but it will not punch out. In the repro keys is just a cosmetic feature only. For the real keys, the plug punches out relatively easily.
