NOS seat covers
Not sure if the seller is on here. Local ad has these 74 new take off corvette seat covers in smoke grey. May buy and put in my 77. What do you think? ($460ish for the pair)
ETA : Question I'm asking is, for a non original 77 rat would original seats or remakes be better?
New leather vs old leather. Current production vs 70s production.

Let's start with the fact that they're not NOS seat covers. They may be fairly new original covers, but if they were take offs, they were still used for some period of time. Secondly, they're not leather, they're vinyl 74 covers. The "Comfortweave" inserts were only used on the vinyl seat covers. 74 leather covers would have smooth leather inserts.
Additionally, the back rest of the 74 seats, had a chrome trim piece on the top front, that was not there on 77's. To use these covers, you'll need to by a pair of the 74 seat back trim pieces ($50 each new), or you'll have three holes showing across the top of each seat back once they're installed. Finally, the silver interior used in 74's, is not the same color as the smoke interior, that came in 77's.
77's originally came with either leather or cloth seats, at no extra charge. The cloth seat covers are not reproduced, but leather ones are. Real leather 77 seat covers sell for $600 a pair, and "leather like" covers (a high quality vinyl in the exact same pattern as the original leather covers) sell for $370 a pair.
Personally, I'd prefer to save some money by buying a pair of the leather like seat covers, and know I was getting new covers, in the same color as the rest of my interior.
