Lower Control Arm Question
Gang,
In reassembly mode for my 78. Everything has a nice, fresh coat of paint and is going back on the car after getting all new bushings. Quick question on the lower control arms though - There are 2 front bolts and 1 rear nut and bolt to mount the lowers to the frame, on the rear nut and bolt, for some reason I cant get EITHER bolt to go on more than 1/4" (is this normal? thought it was weird that I would have screwed both up in the same spot!).. So, I have new ones on the way. But the real question is this - on the driver side, do you have to remove the PS pump to get that rear bolt out? I have browsed around the internet and found no mention of it from anyone.. I can always cut the old bolt out, but really didnt want to have to remove the pump to put the new one in...
THANKS!

Those nuts should be self-locking. The tapered end of the nut is deformed (triangle in shape) so they will thread on until they get to the deformed area and then tighten right up and need a wrench.
Sort of like a nyloc nut will thread on until it hits the nylon part at the top.

For your other question, on my BB there's room above that bolt for removal so the SB it must sit differently
