Good evening to all,
New member to the Corvette Family as of last summer, have only just now gotten Flash to where he's drivable from soft parts rot.
My neighbor had a '79 black with red crushed velvet interior, and to a young kid it was the coolest thing ever. Now I finally have one as well.
Slowly building a list of things to replace, previous owner took either excellent care or it was taken care of when they did the paint because there is no rust anywhere on this car.
L-48 with deluxe interior with A/C
77,000 miles
Not sure but upper A pillar door seals may be replaced with NOS seals, it's very soft but no damage anywhere and looks/feels new.
Little things been slowly working on:
Passenger side window guides are 100% now after removing the wax-like grease and window fitment to seals are pretty darn perfect.... only took all Saturday to accomplish. Also installed sound deadener in door as well.
Replaced all bushings with MOOG rubber on upper and lower control arms
Ball joints are still in TIGHT condition... I know it's low millage but still when something is 42 years old...
Bought a gantry crane with electric 2,000lb hoist to allow for solo hood, engine maybe even body handling.
Fiero seats are acquired and awaiting two more weeks from Mr. Mike's to recover them back to new.
Built 302 with a PATC Mega Raptor 700 to provide some... motivation.
Found a NOS brass radiator at the old Napa warehouse, had about 2 inches of dust on it... from GM no less, pays to know people for sure.
Front QA1 coil-overs, double-adjustable with 350lb springs
Immediate projects:
Driver door refurbish of window guides and align glass.
New tail-lights
New Carpet
New interior door panels, not badly cracked, but it's driving me insane.
Fix weak A/C (why, I don't use it)
rear end... (drums of dread)
new wheels to go with 17/18 stagger

Xanadu is another great icon of the 80's and a fave of mine, plus it had ONJ... -smokin-
I wasn't able to respond due to my dumbass locking myself outa my account... apparently I miss-spelled my username and didn't catch it this whole time I was trying to reset it. Is this your username? yes... no... no it wasn't. LOL
I wish I could find the painter, every line is hand done, dried, then masked off and then the other side of the line painted... and you cant feel any of it, the fiberglass was taken down and blocked and new gel-coat, someone put ALOT of time into this, and effort.
Been working a lot of overtime this week, havn't been able to do anything BUT.... I got an email from Mr. Mike's. My seat covers are supposed to arrive tomorrow, in time for a three day weekend, so hopefully I can have them done and back in, in-time to drive before going back to work Tuesday.

Interiour trim door panels along the glass are like 1/2" away from the glass, but the panels follow the body lines of the where they merge with the dash and behind the seat... it almost looks like there should be a cover or seal against the glass to simply cover being able to see through the glass from the outside of the car, and see the top of the door body under the door panel.
Hey everyone, sorry ive been absent for awhile, work has been pretty hectic and mostly 70+ hours a week, leaving me with little time to update. Since it's either work on the car or update, it's work on the car and other projects lol.
I can not say enough about the quality of Mr. Mikes fiero kits... I know nothing about upholstery and these have come out better than pro shops around here that I've seen.
Btw, I never knew what a de-ruster vinegar was... some old racers turned me onto it and now I keep a 30 gallon Rubbermaid tote in the corner of the shop. Two days and those parts went from heavily rusted to looking nearly new. Talk about a cheap wonder cleaner!
if that car came from ok/texas area,it could have been owned by a guy that drag raced 70's-80's,he had a offshore cat boat named ''flash gordan'',around lake texoma maybe?
LOVE the paint! Good job on the seat and thanks for tip on the vinegar! Will be watching!
thanks!!!! I need to take some new pics, got the first coat of wax on the car over the weekend, the 'ol paint really came alive, looks like water over it, found out im spoiled from my buffer tho… have to hand wax this one... no buffer... my elbows are still sore......

Carpet arrived! thanks Willcox!!! Now the waiting game to let it settle for a weekend, oh well, good thing im working the weekend anyway.
Great fit, wont need much to hold it down, but will have to use some glue because the Reflectrix is pretty slick.
Looks sooooooooo much better than the cut-pile carpet imo… idk what made them think cut-pile is more modern, I love this look.
