I had a fun experience the other day when my '76 decided to leave half of it's oil capacity on the interstate shoulder . From what I can tell, it all came out of that empty hole in the LS valve cover. I think that's supposed to be the PCV valve, correct? If so, what would cause it to blow out like that...? I've also attached a couple pictures of the casting numbers to see if y'all can help me identify the engine so I can get the right replacement part. the 3970100 casting number makes it seem like it could be the original block, but I'm not sure. Thanks ahead of time for all of the help!!

Reason: Pictures were upside down
Std part number for a 350....believe GMPP still sells blocks. Why not upgrade to a roller block with the 1 pc rear seal?Sucks but nothing lasts forever. Consider putting a fan shroud on there, makes a big difference.

Need to look elsewhere for oil leak, 2 1/2 qts of oil don't just jump out of a valve cover PCV hole.
I’d also look into rerouting the vacuum line for your PCV.
Having it ‘T’d into the vacuum line for the power brake booster is not good for either the booster or PCV function.
Just my .02
I'd bet you have a broken piston and you are pressurizing your crankcase
you would be correct. My phone isnt letting me post pictures, but there are several holes in the oil pan from the inside out. Im pretty sure this isnt good.
