Default 78 pace car engine compartment

does anyone know the difference between a l48 and a l82 as far as valve covers,air cleaner,1 or 2 air feeds.were they all the same depending on the engine designation.

The dual-duct air cleaner, valve covers and the aluminum manifold would be the primary visible differences along with the PCV valve. Original PCV valves would have a yellow-body versus black but then the yellow-bodied came with all L82s and so have no relationship with a Pace Car.

There is no engine mechanicals that differentiated a Pace Car from a coup...only paint, decals and cosmetics (console name plate).

thanks for the info,my car doesn;t have the original engine but according to the serial number it was a l48.thanks again.skip
