Default Quick Question about Ign. Contol Module

What brand/manufacture of the HEI module is more dependable? My AutoZone $40 module just failed after 3 years/weak spark--no spark after engine warms up and dies/I'm getting 13V at positive terminal on my aftermarket tach-drive distributor during Key On, Crank, and Run. (P.O. converted to HEI distributor)

I want to stick with the type that fits inside the distributor rather than the external $200 controller.

Thanks for advice.

I replaced one on my 79 C10 and it was an AC Delco part. It’s been in for nearly 5 years now and never given me any trouble.

I’ve always had good lick with the orielly bwd select ones. I’ve had it for years. But I only drive the 79 about 500 miles a year. I always use the heat sink compound they supply

Thanks everyone. I was tied up all day and told Mr. O'reilley that I wanted a NON-China module......they had one. I think I'll buy a spare ACdelco and keep it in the car/probably will never need it....LOL.

(I didn't install the module yet/got home too late from V.A. appointments )
