Huumm so not original. My front windshield is delaminating in both lower outer corners I assumed a sign of being original. Regarding the passenger window is the shape of the window the same whether a 1969 or 1979? Would the fitment be exactly the same?
The reason I ask regarding the shape is because I have been struggling with getting the passenger window sealed up air and water tight. (All new seals)

Well, a ‘79 would have to be a coupe, so if you have a ‘69 roadster, yeah,it’s gonna leak.
Just FYI, I’m not sure Ive ever had a C3 where the windows fit perfectly. One year I took my ‘69 to Bloomington and I had to put towels at the top of both windows when it was parked in the hotel lot all night and it rained hard.

Okay good to know.
Regarding 1969 vs 1979 I'll assume there are the same.
Vettebuyer: Next time rather than towels just use the 2" blue tape temporarily on the outside of the window, that seals it up real good in a pinch. I do that when I want to give the car a good wash too.
No significance other that it was the original OEM glass. It is thicker than all the replacement glass on the market, so one needs to really make sure to shim the front windshield carefully before setting the WS or you will have gaps between the glass and the trim.
Not sure if you are into originality or not.

Dennis, that sounds like a good price where are you purchasing that from?
Try going to autocityclassic.com Product ID: W714D
Hopefully the date coding is readable from the inside. I have been told only a couple of manufacturers make the glass. Others buy from them. Maybe it comes thru Pilkington from Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd? We will be shimming to make sure my $550 worth of straightened and highly polished stainless trim will fit the glass.
I picked up my 69' dated WS from Pilkington Classics in Columbus Ohio last year. I think the WS with correct dating was less than that price, but I would have to find the paperwork. You can call and ask. I needed an early 69' Aug/68' dated WS it has a slightly different LOF logo and the dating/logo should be etched on the outside/read from the inside.
I have yet to open the box...............Argh.
I spoke with Auto City Classic Inc., (nice folks and helpful) they mentioned even the side windows are thinner than OEM by about 7/32”. They also date the glass as original, I suppose that makes it hard to tell if it’s really original or not.

Dennis: They will date code so it is readable from the inside or outside as requested by the customer.
For a 1969 they only sell side glass with Astro logos. I thought if it was an A/C car it did not have Astro logo’s.
He did say if I didn’t want Astro I could purchase their latter model post-1975 glass.
Can anyone confirm the use of Astro or not for an A/C car?

All early C3s has Astro-Ventilation on the door glasses regardless of optional factory air. Astro-Ventilation was GMs trade name for the fresh air system introduced in 68. You'll also find it on other GM makes.

Mike is correct, all 69's regardless of a/c or not had this glass. For the door glass, the repop's will be hard to detect, but for the windshield the repop is easy to detect. The reason being is the tint band is different and easily detectable as such.
