Finally finished the Ls2 swap in my 82 vette. Went with Dakota Digital guages, a nice digital upgrade. I know it's an automatic but I have
a bad left knee so it was the only choice I had. On the Dyno it ran
415 HP at the rear wheels. Not a ton of HP but enough for me .
This is just a fun daily driver so it's not too fancy.
Here it is at idle, sorry about the quality but I just used my iphone to grab a quick vid.
Cylinder heads port and polished.
Speartech 58x 6.0/4l60e wiring harness
with programmed E38 ECM/t42 TCM and Vette
ETC pedal.
Speartech MAF sensors.
Speartech plug and play cruise control wiring.
Comp Cam, new lifters, springs, rods, stage 4
LS2 Swap Kit
Aluminum GM/LS Engine Conv Radiator
Complete Dakota Digital Guages for 1982 Vette
new 4l60E transmission with W/Converter/2000 Stall
all new A/C Compressor and lines
New headers
175 Amp alternator
All new Magnaflow Exhaust
External Vacuum pump for Brakes (cam caused vacuum issues with brakes)
Chrome brake booster and master cylinder
New power steering pump and reservoir kit
New Fuel level sensor and fuel pump
New throttle body
All new tires
All new bushings and grommets on all front end parts
I had bought the car for $9000.00 and I spent about $18,000.00
so have about $27,000.00 invested. I know I will never get that out
of it but I did it because it is what I wanted. Not concerned about
if I overspent. :-)

Reason: updating
So how hard is the wiring and computer part of the engine swap?
About the cost?
The wiring was fairly easy, wiring kit with E38 ECM, Vette ETC Gas Pedal and extra harness length cost about $1800.00
Company is Speartech.
It was a complete wiring harness so all the old wiring came out.
Could have saved the money for port and polish and gone with a cam and springs. My LS1 with a bunch of LS6 parts made 440rwhp with headers and a tune . LS2 heads are great, all they need is a cam and springs to make great power.
Love the install, very clean. I love that you integrated the new AC compressor with the original AC system.

Wow, that is literally my dream build right there: A blue '80-'82 LS2 Swap, keep the exterior the same (stock wheels and body work), but upgrade the interals. The later model C3s look really good, but if theyre stock, they just have no performance. With this, you have the best of both worlds. You have the awesome classic C3 with modern performance and that is just so awesome. Really great job, I am so jealous!
I'm trying to get up the nerve/info to do this with an LS for a beat up/ragged out CE i picked up from an estate.
GREAT job and 415 AT THE WHEELS will embarrass many !
