Welcome to the forum Mike!
Lots of great members and helpful advice in the C3 section of the forum at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1968-1982-5/. Be sure and read the stickies at the tops of the different sections.
Also, you may want to check out the C3s for sale in that area, also.
Best wishes with finding the C3 right for you!
Welcome to the forum Mike. Where in Michigan are you from? What year are you looking for? What's your price range? I'm on the West side of Michigan and can keep my eyes open at some of the cruises.

Im looking at 72-73 from 10K to 14K depending on condition
I will be looking at a 71 for 12.5 tomorrow that needs some work.
Rust, rust is the killer, if a seller says "no rust" and its not fresh restored or very pampered its likely bs.
A car can look show queen and closer inspection can have major rust damage,
Rust hides on c3s in places that cant be seen without tear downs that a seller wont allow so you have to be keen and savvy looking at things to have a general idea how much rust might be hiding,
Figure out what you desire and will that fit in your budget,
Do you want bone stock or are mods okay,
Coupe, roadster, auto, 4 speed , etc,
Dont settle for things you dont want buy as nice and as much c3 as your budget allows,
If you do your own wrenching you are way ahead of the game, hiring it all done will get pricey,
73 was a weird cool one year, chrome bumper rear, plastic nose with large grills, i like the look, 73s will give a bit more bang for your buck over 68 to 72
