Hi Gary,

Just because it gets a little bit less collectible in 1972 due to power and compression loss. otherwise, I would answer why not !?

Depends on the price and also condition, clear history, true100% LT-1....
To be honnest, I'm even now thinking about an L46 from 1970 in very good condition.

Micha
I believe the 72' LT1 has the exact same engine as the 71' just rated differently. Also, the 72' has the LT1 designation in the vin, making it that much less likely to be faked. If cost was not an issue I would stick with the 70', but I believe all the LT1's are becoming more collectible everyday.
I saw your L46 post. Very good choice also, but I would not limit to just 70', 69' had the L46 also.
Search the FS archives here there was a top flight white 70 L46 for sale in Texas. Pretty original car.

Hi Joe,
Thank you for your words. It's appreciated for a newbie like the one I'm. I know the rules to measure power have changed with SAE. So your thought makes sense indeed. As I said, honestly, today I just want a car I can trust in its proper restoration, history and authenticity, could be BB LT-1 or even L46 from the moment it's in excellent condition. I will not join races with my car, and will probably more admire it and clean it, than I will run it ! So after all, all theses technical features, 1970 or 70 or 72...
I'll dig the forum, thks Joe.

Yea, 72 is same as 71. There is actually a page in my 72 AIM that lists both net and gross hp. It says 255 net, and 335 gross.

Plus you can look for a/c LT-1s if you include 72s.
