Does anyone know where this goes? Found in 1774 convertible on floor at bottom of dash. Approx 1"X2". Looks like it could be a bulb housing or shield.

It does look like the bulb bracket that bolts under the dash near the kick panel. The bulb lights when you open the car door. But I' just guessing.

Looks like the passenger side courtesy light holder.

I'd say it's a courtesy lamp holder but it certainly doesn't look like the drivers or passenger side ones I've seen on the earlier vettes (of course I've not seen any from 1774.... 63 is about as early as I go)

I would guess a light holder from 1774 would be a lot bigger , they would probably be burning stinky whale oil as well.

Hey, what do you expect from an old geezer, going on 80 and kids don't even know I'm restoring this vehicle.

Its the bulb holder for the 73' (may be on other years were the lettering illuminates) wiper plate on the center gauge bezel. It should be light blue.

That makes sense than the courtesy lights. (72 doesn't have those lit up)
Learn something new everyday (I wonder what I've forgotten now that something new came in...)

Bingo! That is it.
I used to restore cars but my daughters said I was getting on and not to do another. Well, I got tired of reading and had watched every western made so I am doing this without their knowledge. 1974 convertible, 49K , one owner, with L82 4spd 2 Hurst. with A/C. Replacing interior and gas tank, didn't have to do anything to engine, it cranked after sitting since 1988. New correct date stamped top and belts with correct labels. Every number will be correct when I finish. Oh! I forgot, car is 65 miles away and I go there 4 days a week to work on it. Daughters think I go visit my 88 year old friend.
