I found 2 Corvette's that I am interested Which one would you buy?
1. 68 Convertible restored 20 years ago has about 25k since rebuilt Black with Gray int. numbers matching hard and soft top AC car missing compressor. will need paint some fiberglass work and interior. Asking $17,500
2. 69 Convertible Grand Sport c3R (the one Chevy forgot to build) 350ci/350hp/4spd/3.70posi Frame stripped and repainted(POR15), all brake/fuel lines replaced, front and rear suspension rebuilt, trailing arms new. Fuel, water pump & heater core new, all brake components new, starter new. Dash/engine/starter/headlight wiring harness new. L88 fender flares, L88 cold air package hood, FIA GT headlights, fixed wiper door, fender louvers. Two part primer applied. New American Racing wheels, new Mickey Thompson radial tires. New Stahl side exhaust headers. Front and rear alignment done. All the heavy work is done, and yes it starts, runs and drives great. I have over $32k invested (not including labor). A lot of interest in this Corvette, make a good offer and own an individual Corvette. Asking $23,000
I love black vettes i mean a lot but the flared road race look wins hands down for me,
The only thing Austin powers ish about it to me are the dodge hash marks on the fenders hurting the flow and look...but they hopefully peel off...baby!
Not crazy about the L88 flares and headlights. BUT... there is a lot more than 6k in attention to detail between the 2. 68 looks good in pics, but paint, interior and glass work? A LOT more than 6k diff in price. The 69 sez 2-part primer. Is that paint, or red primer stripes on grey primer?

It looks to me as if the 68 has some surface rust starting to take hold. Not unexpected in a car that was restored 25 years ago but it is something to keep in mind. That said, I would still go for the 68 myself but I would go into it with the intention of going through the car to touch it up a bit.
I am a bit of a purist when it comes to the exterior aesthetics of these cars and I like the way they rolled off the factory floor. Not a fan of flares in general, I feel that sidepipes are way overdone, and the headlights just aren't my style on the 69 but obviously to each their own.
These cars are so vastly different I would think that one would pull at your heartstrings way more than the other, whichever one that is. Which car gets your pulse racing? The classic black, sleek shark...or the modified racer/track car look? Both are cool for their own reasons...
