Default Help Identifying A C3 Corvette Find

This C3 was headed to the crusher until I intervened. I have the opportunity to sell this car for parts or as a project car. I saw it in person today. It is very rough body wise. Birdcage looked good. It has a small block and automatic in it. I have taken numerous photos of this vehicle today. I got the VIN and engine numbers also. Debating on what to do with it. You guys give me your opinions after looking over the photos and ID numbers.

VIN # 1Z3774S435474
Engine # 15R435337
Mileage 77342 or ?

I think there's a few things going on there
74 Vin
Rear looks like a 80-82 with the ducktail and letter style (not italic)
front emblem looks like 75-76
Can't see if the rear deck has the astro vents (75) or not (76)
Anyway, I'll change my guess to 74 with various other stuff smushed into it

Looks like a '74 by VIN, but the VIN provided is likely incorrect:

VIN # 1Z3774S435474
Engine # 15R435337

using above serial #:
1974 VIN= 1Z37J4S435474
1976 VIN= 1Z37L6S435474
1977 VIN= 1Z37L7S435474

I think if you check your VIN digit #5 should be a "J."
Interior trim code is also 1974.

Obviously wrong engine. Vector wheels (some value). 80-82 add on tail cap. Nose cap is not straight-line '74. Its '75-'79.

Hello from Round Rock..That"s an interesting discovery. If you don't mind me asking, did you find that here locally? The "lift" it's setting on looks quite unique.

Looks mostly all there, the duck tail was added, it does have the Vectors-nice.

Would be a great car to mod it the frame/birdcage are intact.

Hey there Jstan2014. I found the vehicle through a friend here locally.

The man that owned the car built the ramp type device. He could crawl under it and work on it. Nice set up.

The frame had surface rust but no rotting damage that I could spot.
The top of the birdcage looked solid but I didn't pull any trim to look further.

When I saw your cars in the other thread I said to myself that looks like the neighborhood I used to live in in Round Rock. We lived in Cat Hollow for almost 10 years. My oldest was born in Round Rock Hospital.

I've never understood why GM painted cars that nasty brown color. A buddy of mine had a 76 or 77 Firebird that color. Who would walk into a dealership and either buy that hideous color off the showroom floor or even worse order it. All time worst color ever IMHO.

On to the car. If the rust is minimal it would make a great platform for a restomod. Just don't paint it baby **** brown please.

Small world for sure! We’re south of Cat Hollow/620 in the Round Rock West area. We love it out here.
