My new to me 1975 Corvette

75 was the corvette I wanted in HS, back in the day for about $7k new. Always gets a bad rap as a dog and not a collectible- which in stock form guys it is. I bought a 75 L82 4 spd 355 gymkana coupe about 15 years ago and gave it to my son to build. He got into the 11's for a nice street car before a kid ran a stop sign and totaled it. He bought another 75 L48 4 spd 336 coupe that I always wanted and built that into a high 10 sec car.
I don't think they are ever going to be high dollar cars so if you bought it for an investment you made a mistake but if you bought it because that's what you want and will drive it then they are good cars. The original bumpers dry out and crack apart and the differentials need attention but I would still buy one today if I found the right one:
Blue/black, L82, 4 spd, deluxe interior, PS and PB and NO A/C or luggage rack.
The l48 4 spd my son bought cost $7500 and had 50k miles on it, the interior was like new, new bumpers and good paint.
Good luck with it and enjoy it. Learn how to fix it or it will become a money pit if you have to bring to someone all the time.

Your fan motor issue might just be the ground. Had the same problem on my '73 and it was just a loose ground down near the transmission bellhousing.

No...there isn't a catalytic converter, it's straight back. There isn't any smog pump on it either, although I'm not sure there is supposed to be on a '75

Mine fell off back in the day and since I couldn't find it, I just bought a test pipe for it until I could find it. The test proved successful, top speed went from 125 to 130mph with a '77, L48, automatic.
