1971 Center Dash lower bolts to gauge dash cluster
Besides paying someone, what is the best way and what tool to use to take the nuts off of the two stud bolts on the inside of lower center dash console to remove center cluster.
Any sequence to follow? Maybe remove radio?

I just did the opposite of removing it....We put it in...
We were able to get to them by having the"winglets" or inner kick panels removed and the ashtray removed. It was a major challenge!

I believe it was Alan71 that once showed that it was possible to use a 1/4 drive ratchet with long extension and deep socket to get at those two bolts. and yes it's possible with wrenches from up on the two small side panels but it's a PIA. I think someone said they were reachable when the shift plate was removed but I could only get at the passenger side one.
That said, once you get them out consider replacing the nuts with rod couplers, makes the job slightly easier in both assembly and diassembly
