HEI distributor and shielding
Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, because I’ve been able to find lots of answers and help on my C3 journey.
I recently put on an HEI distributor, but then ran into some serious timing trouble. So much so that I had to take the car to a shop to help sort it out.
My ignition shielding fit before I took it in, but I left it off for their ease of access. Now they e rotated the distributor so far that the vacuum advance canister is in the way and one shielding arm had to be bent to turn the dist far enough to set the timing.
My question is, could I just back each plug wire up a space and rotate the dist back to place and set the timing with a gun again?
I ask this knowing that with these cars, there is no “simple” fix...ever.
