Default '72 T-Top question

The interior center roof pad/trim has studs sticking up that go into holes in the metal roof brace. What do they go into? What locks them in place. Nothing in the AIM for this.

The corresponding supports are riveted to the roof frame (this pic shows a 69 but I am pretty sure this also applies to a 72)

So the ribbed studs just rub the edges of the metal holes. No grommet or anything.

Yes, I think so (at least it worked for me). The evidence is the AIM (no more details regarding this) and no grommets etc as spare parts available :-)

There is actually a little spring loaded clip thing riveted inside the frame in three locations circled above. I can see them looking down the hole but can't get a pic.
