Default Introducing the new C10

Cutting to the chase and skipping the long story...I was able to locate the very C3 my father bought off the showroom floor in 1970. He sold it in 1975 and after all this time it has come back to the family. I last saw this car when i was 10 yrs old. I now can open the garage and see the very car that started my corvette passion so many years ago.. Makes a guy feel pretty lucky! Thought I would share.

I'd say you are, or have hit a "home run" in at least a couple ways---every pun intended! Great story. Did you find it by vin, NCRS, etc.?

AORoads..

Right around 1999, 25 years after my father sold the car, he had a chance meeting with a gentleman in Kansas City where he has always lived and had the car. My father noticed his car and asked to take a look. When he saw scratches on the shifter he knew right there it was his old car. He had broken his right wrist in 1973 and the cast scratched up the shifter ****. (this is when i learned to shift gears left handed as a youngster when he would hit the clutch) After doing a title trace they confirmed it was the very car he bought off the floor. They exchanged names and number with the promise of this guy that 'you will be first call if ever I decide to sell'. Well... I decided I wanted a C3, now another 20 years later and who would have thought the phone number was still good, he had the car and after a week of thought was willing to sell me the car. Could not be happier. He took tremendous care and pride in the car and it is in tremendous shape. My father was the first owner and I am now the 4th.

Congrats! That's pretty cool.
My '72 was originally sold in the KC area too.

My question would be, "Is it as cool as you remember it to be?" I'm betting the answer is yes...Pretty neat stuff!!

That is a good question... I will have to find out.. It has 94k on it now and I have no idea what it had when he sold....I do know that he used it as his daily back then and also took it on some trips... Gonna see what I can do to determine that.
