Looking at a 69 L-71 roadster, I'd like some opinions on this tank sheet looks pretty legit to me, car is all numbers matching. I'm mor familiar with what to look for on a 67 model, what are the key things to check for on a 69 to authenticate L-71 originality, like for instance on a mid year there is a label on the back of the instrument cluster, to signify the appropriate red line. Do C3s have that?

Can't tell you anything about the tank sticker unless you post a clearer picture that can show some real detail.

This sticker is for the car on ebay correct? Vin 717872. I don't see Side Pipes on the tank sticker. Believe it or not that might be a good sign. Theres a better chance it is not fake since a order for a fake sticker would probably want to have that included.

I am not sure I like the pad stamp. The fonts look correct but its really hard to tell. Also this car has been on ebay before. I saqw it several months ago and thought it sold.

Also, All matching numbers? If you mean it might have "matching numbers" on the eng, trans, rear then maybe. All "matching numbers"....no. The alternator is wrong. The smog system is missing completely so those numbers cant match.

Matching numbers does not mean original if that means anything to you.

Be carefull....

thanks for the reply, yes this is the car on eBay, by matching numbers I meant drivetrain, it apparently has the original trans and rear end in it, that is the only pic of the tank sticker I have, he just sent me another of the stamp pad I'll post it here.

Some pads are really hard to tell.
That pad just looks too perfect but I just don't know enough. There are no obvious signs its a restamp.

I had looked at a L71 pad that was a restamp and the owner selling it had enough integrity to admit it was a restamp. It would have fooled me. It looked really good. The fonts were right on and the pad had the correct looking broach marks and everything.

Its a good looking car.
