1980 4-speed clutch switch problem

Assuming you have a good battery and getting power to the starter.....
1) Make sure there isn't something in the way of the clutch pedal. The carpet or floor mat can get bundled underneath it. (Actually happened to me)
2) MAKE sure you are in neutral. Check again, check a 3rd time, and make a jumper cable. If it cranks, you know its the switch.
There are a lot of other possibilities Id rule out before damning the clutch switch though. Id focus on battery, terminals and grounds first.

It's the battery. It's always the battery. Charge the battery (on a real charger, not a trickle charger). Only after that is done would I move on to anything else.
I can kill the battery in my 79 by leaving the door open for a few hours here and there while replacing the carpet. Lights still work, starter does not. Charge for a few hours, good as new! I am more diligent about using the battery disconnect now.
Or did you find it was the switch?
