Electric gremlin
Bit of a saga on 68.. broke down at gas station last week.
No ignition.. popped a new fuse in, which got me running.. now . At home.. issue had manifest itself again.. sometimes dead entirely, sometimes fires, and dies immediately.
the car has a recently replaced starter solenoid, so that was my first suspect, but I'm not sure the symptoms fit? Possibly the ignition switch? Anything else I should be looking at?
Hei dizzy.. anything to be mindful of?
presumably, if that connection is intermittent, the thing will stop whenever it's not got 12v?
Do the wire-wiggle-test: while the car is idling in Park or neutral wiggle the wires at the distributor connection to see if you can cause the engine to stumble or die. Do the same to the connections at the starter........alternator.......firewall fuse block.....each u der-hood harness for broen wires in the wiring bundles.
Then do the same u der the dash at the fuse block.....ignition switch.......wiring bundles that you can reach to see if any of those will cause the engine to stumble.
It may take an hour to do this but it can save you from having to replace components that are still in good condition..
