Hello All,
I have a 80' C3 I just bought and it came with what I was told is an older vette engine. I need a little Help identifying what year vette it came from. I think you guys are the ones to ask... I can take photos as needed, the engine is Orange so I believe that's pre-76, the engine has a code stamped on the intake manifold, I will check what it is after work... I believe it is G47... or GM47, ill take a look!

The flat pad between water pump and head. Try carb cleaner or acetone to take paint off. In last shot, it looks like no numbers. If engine was rebuilt and head surface cut, the numbers will be gone.

The derivative VIN looks to be from a Chevrolet truck which is supported by the TYU broadcast code. It is a 75 350/ 165 HP motor from a van or bus.
