the bad part is in order to have it judged it must be titled and registered. and if you do that you just ruined the story of this car

The way I see, the story continues and you become the first owner of record.

Do you think the factory installers mounted that alternator bracket on incorrectly?

What's wrong that you see? It sure looks correct to me.

Where's it been sitting for the last 43 years?

Having said that, I was watching the TV show 'Chasing Classic Cars', a couple of weeks ago, the resident expert/host of the show, went out to look at a 1965 Volvo coupe that someone called him about. The son of the Volvo dealer contacted him about the car. It was left over after the end of the model year, so the dealer said, "Screw it", and stashed it in a back building of the dealership, where it sat until the present time. The owner died, and the son was liquidating stuff, and he wanted to sell the Volvo. I seem to recall that it had less than 100 miles on it...

It appears the rear bumper cover was resprayed. The attaching center bolt and exposed area of the license plate retainer appear to be white. This was not how it came from the factory...the retainer was installed after the color was sprayed and the bolt was installed at the time of installation on the line, well after the cover was initially painted.

See below.

Has the master cylinder been replaced? I thought the original units had bleeders on them.

Why would the hood gutter running along the firewall be white? It does appear to have the original air filter. Tires are gone and the exhaust appears to be replaced too.

The gutter actually should be body-colored, but the paint should be more overspray quality than as if it were a direct spray with color. Good catch on the exhaust...the factory exhaust had the outer tips of the tailpipes clipped off.

The gutter running across the firewall should be black with the rest being body color.

Gotta start somewhere I guess. I saw a maroon ‘76 with about 3000 Miles a few years ago with cracked front and rear bumper covers that sold for 36ish if I remember right. This car is much better and a convertible to boot.

Hope he gets it. Reagan said, “a rising tide lifts all boats.”

Whoops -- my mistake! I was talking about the side gutters. You are absolutely right, the firewall divider should be black. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part.

You’d think there would be many many more photos detailing the entire car if your asking $70k for it on eBay. I sent seller a message asking for more deatailed photos of interior and engine bay a couple of days ago with no response...
