I have a 77 L-48. The wife wants the seat back more upright. according to the owners manual go to the dealer and ask for the no charge adjustment set. Well that was in 1977 and it is now 2018. One or more of the vendors have an adjustment set for 68 to 75 models. It's not terribly expensive but I have limited desire to waste money on something if it won't work. So the question is will this set work on my 1977? Thanks as always.

Dave I am not sure about your 77 but my 1972 has some large philips head screws and on the opposite part of the seat, large bumpers that can be screwed out to upright the seat some. The kit you describe is a series of plates i f I remember that does something similar. Again not sure of the fitment for your year, since I am not sue what year did GM update the seats.
But you may want to "play" with those two to see what you get.

There was some kind of a change in 76 and 77 and according to a question on Corvette Central, the shims will not work on a 77
I did see that the seat lock shims say they will work on a 77 so it looks like only the seat stop shims are different (metric or larger diameter bolts???)
First thing first, try to turn the adjusters on the seat bottom (large philips screws) as they are frequently rusted in firmly in place. If they wont turn no shims are going to help. If they turn out you could just place a stack of washers under each stop and then the same under the seat lock strap bolts.
Frequently people just put a rolled up towel between the seat and the wall behind it to tip the seat back ahead but this prevents it from latching, safety and all that.
BTW don't just back the adjuster screws out without shims or washers, it'll break the welded nuts under the seat loose if they aren't already
