Default Side exhaust

I purchased this 69 and it was a project. The side exhaust was in a box. My question is, does anyone have a close up pic they can post of the front part of shield that goes under the car. My shields look short.
Thank you
Chuck

Post a pic of your shield and we'll tell you if it's short.

Default OEM side exhaust front shield

OEM side exhaust front shield, is this what you are looking for?

photos of cut short and photos of original length. I think people cut them short for tire clearance maybe?

Thanks for the pics, I was hoping for a pic of the shields on a car. Sorry I did not make it clear.

Oh well, sorry this did not help. Suggest you do an internet search, should be lots of side pipe photos out there, I do not have any photos on the Corvette.

Check this sidepipe thread. You'll note that all sidepipes (aftermarke & oem) turn under the fender before the wheel well begins.
OEM sidepipe covers curl under the fender a few inches before the wheel well opening and the curled tip sits @ 1/2 inch behind the lowest wheel well interior opening

When I hold the shield to the rocker and the front of shield is in place (around the fender) it looks like the back of the shield is to forward. If I hold the back of shield in what I think is the correct place the front of shield hits the lower rocker and is about an inch back. So I think the front needs to be in place or the lower fender needs a slot for the shield to fit in.

The front lower fender lip does need to be trimmed in a couple of places.
The info is in the AIM.

Default N14 69 aim

Let us know how the install goes, I will need to do this job for the first time too, and the support looks pretty flimsy to me, but hopefully not.
