Ahhhh
is this part specifically to keep someone from
opening your locked door by being able to get a tool inside? I ask because I’m not sure I have the other one and in this day and age they just bust the window to get in. Lol

There should be a strip of foam seal tape along the top edge, they were also designed to help prevent water from getting into the lock area as well as door opening "tools"
