I have enjoyed “Making this Mine” as they say!
I have stand corrected MAKING THIS HERS!

Im not sure I’d like the window trim painted red, but that’s personal preference. I like the contrast detail. The black matches the windshield trim, but chrome/polished would look good with the rockers, wheels and side vents. Personally, I like the black as it’s consistent with the window treatments.
Nice job.

The other was a 78 corvette. My budget said Marquis, and at the time hauling others was a thing. Ordered the Marquis to my spec and "Made it my own"
Now taking care of any regret I might have had. Cragar wheels were the wheels of choice back then but not on a Marquis. Several vets had the louvers and looked
Cool as hell. So 40 years later I took care of it!
Several warnings and opinions from friends and Corvette (so called) experts said:
1. Cragar wheels "oh those spacers you need are dangerous" Driving habits are weekend 35mph on the A1A and wouldn't hesitate to do 70 up and down the coast.
2. Cragar Louvers "Those are BUBBA BS" Always wanted them and now have.
3. Astro top "Bad quality and fit" Well they leak very little but show me a vet that hasn't.
A lot of bad press right here in CF in regards to the above items.
Hear is a blast from the past on choice of that time.

In 1974 I really wanted a Corvette, but among other problems I couldn't fit hockey equipment in it. My parents bought me a 1974 Cutlass Supreme, as we were an Oldsmobile family. The first things I did was get the local pinstriping genius to personalize my car for me. Then, I went right out and bought the coolest wheels ever, the Cragar S/S. Pictures of my Cutlass below; unfortunately I couldn't get a shot of the wheels. Feel free to ignore the cat and the McDonalds plate.

When I eventually bought an old junky 1965 Corvette big block that no one wanted, I went right out and bought... Cragars. Unfortunately I was too young and green to know they didn't clear the disc brakes. Rather than figure it all out, I returned them and never really got around to Cragars until, uh, 40 years later. I put them on my '69 as an alternate look and I love them so much I cant take them off. Incidentally, I drive this car A LOT. I have not had an issue with the spacers.
Before that though, I used louvers on my custom '73 that looked real good, and 3 piece aluminum louvers on my '80 that didn't look good at all, and quickly sold them. I would have liked the 1 piece design; that looks good.
Similar tastes!
