Default Interior help

Reinstalling my interior and these are the pics I took of the rubber pieces behind the rear trim.
it seems they were just laying there, is this the correct placement? And what was there function? Thanks

Looks about right, mine are a little forward of that, about an inch forward of the panel bond joint where the thin leg is on the foam.
I believe they were supposed to be sound deadener as that channel is open all the way to the front of the wheel well.

Also supposed to be another square foam block about the size of a deck of cards in front of that one but usually they fell down the channel
