Just to be clear, you have a 1977 C3 with an automatic. Is that correct? Can you post an image of what you have?
I have no specific advice to give. My 1980 C3 with a manual transmission (often called a "stick shift" in the US) has a Hurst shifter, but that won't help you if you don't have a clutch pedal.
If you can get past the crude jokes, this review shows the (automatic) Hurst Shifter in action in a 1977 Corvette Restomod.

Somewhere on here a few years back i posted a thread asking for pictures of aftermarket auto shifters installed in c3s some looked great,
As far as gear box for manual goes the stock vette shifter is like out of s bad truck, no matter how well adjusted hurst are far better...

That is a very beautiful car, with a very tastefully modded interior. All black or all red are too much, but what you have is just right. I especially like the radio delete panel.
