Just to be clear, you have a 1977 C3 with an automatic. Is that correct? Can you post an image of what you have?
I have no specific advice to give. My 1980 C3 with a manual transmission (often called a "stick shift" in the US) has a Hurst shifter, but that won't help you if you don't have a clutch pedal.

As far as gear box for manual goes the stock vette shifter is like out of s bad truck, no matter how well adjusted hurst are far better...
That is a very beautiful car, with a very tastefully modded interior. All black or all red are too much, but what you have is just right. I especially like the radio delete panel.

I've never seen a '77 Corvette with "Stingray" script emblems on the side fenders, though they look nice. Otherwise, the car certainly appears to be a '77 model.
