When I was a kid I drove a lot of 3 speed stick cars. Usually first gear was very low and all done by 15 MPH, second was in-between (in gear ratio) 2nd and 3rd of a 4 speed and 3rd gear was 1:1. For daily driving the 3 speed was not too bad, for performance driving it sucked. Most 3 speeds did not have a synchro first gear - you had to double clutch.
A lot of the cars were 6 cylinder cars, a few were floor mount - most were column mount.
I also drove a Dodge that was 4 speed on the column - a real PIA.

That was a bare boned base vette, most likely has an open 336 diff. Rare yes, valuable not so much. There was 69 coupe around here years ago like that, just didn't sell for much when just about all others had a Muncie and posi.

Did they use the Dearborn (Ford) 3 speed in the Vettes like GM did in the A-Bodies?
My brother had a 67 GTO in high school with the 3 Speed Dearborn and it was a great trans.
Way more bulletproof than the Saginaw and the gears were very well spaced behind the 400.
He never really missed not having a 4 speed.
