Just to note, there are only a handful of actual manufacturers of gasoline additive chemistries (detergents, anti oxidants and corrosion inhibitors). The majors would include Oronite (Chevron), BASF, Afton (the old Ethyl Company) and Lubrizol. Marketers of gasoline packages (blenders) are many and some can provide real performance benefits. I would suggest looking at major brand marketing companies. Gumout has been around for quite a while but their performance claims seem to be focused on detergency and lack the storage and corrosion claims. I use Sta-Bil for storage/multi-functional performance. There may be other products on the market that are just as good. One thing to keep in mind: if it's cheap there's a reason.

Stabil or Startron
Techron to help clean innards, but it's not a fuel preservative.

I don't know of anyone who bothers with Gumout or STP...

I respect all opinions posted .
Being in Minnesota , my car is away for six months....... SIX MONTHS !

But In Kentucky or New Jersey , you have a humidity/ moisture issue that I don't have to deal with .
I bet you see the top of gas tanks rusted all the time in those damp area`s over the winters.
(Ya know the Cold and Flu season you always hear about ?
Well , there talking to you boys . Not us up here in
the true north).
Anything though is better than nothin.
Especially with the NOTORIOUS...…..Cross Fire !
