Yes, they are available from Ecklers and other vendors. Bolts right on, use your existing hardware.

This one.....https://www.ecklers.com/corvette/197...8-1.html#close

Not so fast....

hoods even stock factory, some fit the next car perfectly others need adjustments and its the same with aftermarket hoods,
You might bolt it on and it fits with no effort at all, it might take adjustments in worse cases it takes bodywork

Ecklers are pretty good and it should fit fairly well out of the box,
But you can get a L88 hood a lot cheaper hunting craigslist etc,
I paid 125.00 local or my super nice one with air box for my 69,
They pop up on here in parts cheaper than retail , last i heard greyhound will ship one for sbout 100.00

ALL as molded fiberglass in gel coat needs work, not just in fit, but in finish. It may look nice right out of the box, but lay down that nice, expensive and shiny paint job and watch the ripples, dips, and dumps come into full spectacle. Expect to spend more than the cost of the hood fitting, finishing, and painting your new hood and that doesn’t include making it a functional cowl induction hood. I did it on my C2 and am really glad I did, just go into it with your eyes open.

I must be a lucky one then, because I have bought two Ecklers L-88 hoods (short ones for '69 with wiper door), and both fit. Bolted on with no mods using my original latches. Had them painted to match the car, no problems or issues at all.

In a way you were lucky, even ecklers require prep,

My point in posting in this thread was only to let the op know what can and does happen,
10 more people can make replies like you did but one cat gets a hood that takes extra work and it can be a pisser.

thanks for all the links and suggestions, really appreciate it!
I know that whenever you order body panels some work is always required as they are never really perfect. when i said modifications, I was referring to hinges/latches etc. now i see that they make bolt on options which is super sweet!
thanks for all the help

Understood The one thing that did bother me though.....the shipping fees! Those things are sent by semi truck.

The Ecklers L88 hood I put on my 75 Vert didn't fit the fenders profile well at all. I had to cut the braces on the bottom and spread the cuts in some places and close them up in others and glass it all back in. I don't blame Ecklers at all though. These cars can differ greatly from one car to another. Mine fits good now.

I know this is a C3 thread, but let’s give the OP some more pictures for motivation and I only have a C2 to offer.

You posted your c2 just to make me jealous..it worked...very sweet car.

Ecklers, ralph was as far as i know the originator of the long hood for 68 to 72s that was made to fit at the rear corners,
Better than slapping a 73 to 82 hood to an early car,

Latches changed during the c3 run but even they can be swapped around on hoods,

Shipping is bad now as far as ordering from ecklers etc but that why i suggest craigslist and greyhound,
