Default Need help decoding engine stampings & castings

I am working on a friends 65 Vette, the engine in his car is a big block, the numbers stamped on the pad are 18D106160 VIN & T0908IV, the last 4# cast on the rear of the engine is 6323, I think this is a 1968 396/325 engine from what I can see, but not sure, can anyone help here, thanks.
