Default The Long Winter

It's that time again for us inhabitants of the northern hemisphere. Took the car out for one last drive this past weekend before putting her away for 7 months. Stopped by the side of the road to snap a couple photos, gassed her up, added fuel stabilizer and covered her with a nice warm blanket. Sigh...

Nice ride. Did the same thing a couple weeks ago... Really bummed me out.

I'm a little more South than you guys--riding her to work tomorrow (my EA plates are in "show/service only" mode after Oct 31 now but I'll chance it). Snow here tomorrow night and salt will be on the roads so this weekend it will be Stabil, trickle charger and cover time...

I treat summer here like a vacation. Any sunny day we have, I literally enjoy it like Im on a Caribbean vacation. That way, when the 7 months of snow and sub zero weather sets in, Im like "OK, back to NORMAL life'.

Don't feel sorry for you snowbirds one bit. Been waiting all summer to work on, let alone drive, my black leather, non-A/C big block in 100+ heat Miami traffic. We all have our problems.

Here in NJ I drive my 70 LS5 on the winter as long as the roads are clear.

I "hot rack" my cars at our lake house (blessed with a 30x30 garage there vs a simple two car garage at home) and swapped the Z06 for the 82 today in preparation for the Veterans Day Parade on Monday. Good spirited 70 mile drive one way and always fun to jump from one platform to another. My favorite car is the one I'm driving.

The other guys will show up with their C5-C7s at the parade, LOL but I'll cruise in the mild mannered 82 and be one of a few "old corvettes" in the parade. Good times. Sadly, the Z won't see a true road trip until spring now. Yes, we all have our problems!
