Let me add my sincere thanks to all who answered when their country called. Please allow me to mention my lifetime best friend.
United State Marine Corps Cpl. Edwin Dayton Thompson III of Lufkin Texas. In country 68/69. We lost him this past May to the lingering effects of that damn Agent Orange.
The same Agent Orange the government refused for years to admit was toxic. You bullet stoppers might appreciate this. Thompson had a 'regular' artificial leg and a 'dress' artificial leg. The dress leg adorned with the anchor and globe and tiny-tiny lights that blinked. And happy Marine Corps birthday too!
Again, thank you from my heart to all Veterans.

I was 1976-1979 regular Army. 95B10. Back in those days as we were traveling between duty stations or off post we were advised to wear civilian clothes to reduce people bothering you. As I traveled for my company I bought many lunches for traveling soldiers in airports after 911.

All,
When I was traveling a lot for work I didn't stay at many Super 8 motels. I'm up in Lewistown MT chasing the elusive mule deer staying at the Super 8. First question they asked as i I checked in on Monday was I a veteran? I said yes and the lady at the front desk said your room is discounted by $25 each night and please park right up front. I thought that was very cool. Very nice budget hotel. I've paid a lot more for a hotel room that is not very nice. Highly recommend.
