Default Sway bars

Were front or rear sway bars optional on the ‘70 to ‘72 350 std coupe Corvettes?

If the car doesn’t have any, is it a much better driving experience with sway bars and does the vette need both front and rear? Are they direct bolt on?

Thank you
Rich

Rick,

All the 70-72 Corvette’s had front sway bars.

I believe that the big blocks had rear sway bars. I have a 72 LS5 that has a rear sway bar and a 70 L46 that does not. My 72 L48 has a rear sway bar.

Your welcome to to stop by and check them out. I’m local to you.

Thank you Bob and thanks for your offer, I will take you up on that, I just don’t know when. Btw, I’m just 2 miles from the intersection of Rt 611 & 113 down 113 towards the Bedminster Police Station (30 minutes from Meetnghouse Rd & Almshouse Rd in Jamison)

My 69 SBC coupe only had a front bar. I replaced the front bar with one that slightly larger and then installed a rear bar. The cornering capability is better. T

BTW all the frames have the mounting points for the rear bars, the holes have a white sealer type stuff in there , you can dig it out easily enough.
