Default Winter C3 Storage Blues

Who else, north of the Mason-Dixon line, can relate with this time of year?
Pls post pics of your hibernating C3 tucked-in for its too-long Winter slumber!

My 1971 is zipped up in a CarBag and locked away in a storage unit until March.

My 71 is covered, trickle charger is on it and Stabil in the tank! If the weather isn’t that bad I can always fire it up occasionally during the winter.

I'm above the M-D line, but over here in Europe! and here's a photo of our '78 tucked up in the garage...

But, it won't be that way all winter - we try, and always have done, to use it at least once a month all through the winter, providing the roads are dry and there is no salt. The later is easier here in France as we don't use it as much - but alas, we do not live in the south, so we do have to pick our dry days

That said, you can bet that when we head out on a Corvette Club France trip in the summer we'll be lucky to have perfect weather for the entire week or so!

Even tho I'm in PHX now....I am a Vermonter. 25 years of storing the car(s).

So it was spring, March, VT.....'hard pack driveway'....months of working on the car, fingers cracking, joints aching....and now a brilliantly sunny and dry day!

Alright! Lets drive the puppy!
Hard top off, Check!
Convertible down, check,
Heat on, check!
Gas chemistry, Check!
Tire pressures! Check!
Fluids A-OK!

Back the side-exhaust car out of the garage, small block echoing through the hills....

And It sunk to its axles in my driveway!

ARGH! 'Mud-season'.

And so I moved to PHX!

I feel!

I look forward to the winters now so I can work on my car without being rushed to get it done before the next show or ice cream cruise night. I used to look forward to skiing but not anymore. Now its a nice cozy garage on the back of the barn with a furnace, fridge and some tunes. I've got my list of projects and already started lining them up. in fact today I fixed the security tabs on my hard top

Parts storage shelves. I'm going through them now an loading the work benches

VB&P front ans rear suspension setup on the work bench

the bay window has 2 Qjets under the rags waiting to get rebuilt or sent to Lars if I screw them up. My pup is buried on the hill outside that window so she is close

Firsst winter project is complete The hoist system worked great and should help me out alot this winter

Pulling the hood solo. My Dad usually helps out but I was in a groove and I could grab him if I got hung up

rolled easily to the back of the car and rested the nose on a heavily padded bracket mounted to the garage door side that stays closed.

just lowered the nose on to the wall hanger then strapped up the top

winching the top off with a ratchet

rotated it around the windshiled and rolled it to the work area up front. I sat in an office chair and bolted the brackets on the top. Nice and comfy

Nice car, nice workshop (except for the red sox logo), and nice classic Ford Ranger in your driveway!

My C3's nose got bent out of shape when I put it away for the winter. At least it's not lonely...

Ed,
your pics walk away with the C3 double-take award! Love 'em!
Are you in the winter picture with the lady and t-tops off in the sub-zero looking weather? And, how in the ...heck did you set up those realistic-looking snow plow shots?
Thanks for sharing those good laughs...

Ed, I just have to ask... How many times do you use the snow plow in Middle Tennessee?

That's a nice looking blue color on your C3 (and storage garage setup)
