Default Recommendations for seats to swap out on a C3?

Any recommendations for replacement seats - for one thing don't want to put wear and tear on the original seats if they happen to be in nice shape, also maybe something more comfortable than stock. I'm a bigger guy - 6'4" two hundred and *cough* mumble mumble pounds.

Are C3 seats Corvette specific or do seats from other vehicles fit?

There are many seat threads. Fiero are popular. I am 6'1" and gotta tilt my head funny to get in a coupe with T-tops in place. All newer seats have higher sides on the bottom and back which makes getting in worse. And then you gotta get the seat bottom as close to the floor as possible.

some have also used Miata seats but C5 seats seam to be the most accessable. The vendors even sell an expensive adapter bracket if you dont want to make one yourself. You have to remove the C5 track and adapt the C3 track.

I had C5 standard seats then found some C5 sports seats so i swapped them again.

I am looking at doing the same thing in my 72. I am worried about losing head room. I am 6'2. I have been looking at C5 and C6 seats.

Do you have the earlier seats? I'm 6'1" and find the stock clamshell seats (C3 79-82) to be great. You can play games with the lower cushion to get a bit more headroom. I fit better in my 80 with old cushions than my wife's 79 with all-new cushions.

If no one else drives your car, you may consider directly mounting the seats to the floor and forego the rails.

For those of you that are tall, it all depends on if you are tall in the torso or in the leg;
I am only 5'9" but very tall in the torso. It is tight in there for me too.
I went with Fiero seats. They do raise your butt up 2"
My daughter is only 5'3" and loves those seats.
