tire replacement

What new tire replacement does everyone recommend for my '78 pace car's 40+ year old goodyear
GT radials? Something that looks somewhat period correct and is reasonably priced

Bf-Goodrich would be my preference

im running 255/60 - 15’s no problem on our 72, and I think that was the standard size for the pace car?

Or you could just replace them with new originals...

If you are going for 255/60R15s your choices are pretty limited primarily to BFG and Cooper (Firestone et al don't make this size anymore AFAIK). Neither is a 'performance' tire and nothing in the specs to suggest a meaningful difference between the 2. You're left w/ looks, personal preference and price. I'd probably go for the Coopers based on price but either should be fine.

Stev-o & Gusto14's suggestions make great sense Jasc6.
I'm personally thinking of the 235/60-15 MICKEY THOMPSON SPORTSMAN S/T's, but these wouldn't match your "theme".
Go with one of their suggestions and I think you won't regret it.
