Does anone offer a direct replacement for VBP's composite spring?
The rear one on my 71 was starting to de-laminate so I pulled the whole setup off and went back to a steel spring.
Now I'm wondering what to do if the front were to get a nick in it and start the same thing.
Might be an opportunity for one of the vendors?
I am pretty sure VBP did not make their own composite spring blanks and probably only did the final manufacture of the end pieces and testing of each spring.
I went over there a few months back to get a specific spring they didn't have in stock. They said were waiting on a shipment from their vendor. They found a spring in their stock they said was close and they could rework it for me but not at exactly the same strength rating. I said thanks, I'll wait ill your regular order comes in. Unfortunately soon after, they went out of business.

On the rear no big deal, you can just do what I did - pull the whole VBP dual mount hardware off and go back to a steel spring. I could have gone with VanSteel's composite too since it bolts up the same way a factory steel spring does..
The front is a bit different. The front composite spring is an adjustable dual mount system similar to the rear dual mount VBP system. The A-Arms are replaced with tubular and the factory coil springs are replaced by the composite spring. With this system, the spring rate is adjustable. The VBP spring is again a different width and has less bow. I do not believe the spring Van Steel carries would adapt in to the VBP adjustable dual mount hardware. Its a lot more work and expense to change out the front to something else but I may have to if the VBP spring ever starts to go and there is no direct replacement.
Maybe VBP's composite spring system is going to die with them. Too bad. They had some really great products.
