I don't know what this is! Help!
Hello everyone, I'm a new member to the forum, and am a new (to me) Corvette owner. Just bought a '79 going in knowing that it needs work. My first project is replacing the driver's side window regulator. So far, seems like a fairly straight-forward repair. Upon removing the panel, it's quite obvious someone who didn't know or care about proper repair has been in this before. Anyway, I found a couple of connections that were not connected to anything, and I can not identify what they are, or where they should attach. Any help would be much appreciated.

Its the anti-theft alarm for the lock cylinder.
the round thing is slipped into the back of the cylinder where the latch pivot is.
and the switch is attached to the metal spring clip that holds the lock cylinder to the car door.

yeah. if its disconnected its likely the system is not working properly.
there are a few switches throughout the car that can trigger an extra horn under the hood. a lot of cars have issues or battery draining so they are bypass the system

That's great information to know. I'll keep that in mind. I've already came across some questionable wiring, could be a result of system bypass.
Thanks a lot for the information!

What it is
The item in your fingers with the round. It goes on the back of your key lock with the other part. It’s part of the anti theft alarm. Wilcox would have diagram to assemble. The drivers door lock. Sorry

Also, to help with your wiring woes, there is a forum member (paging papawana (sp?)) who offers free wiring diagrams for every year C3. I would find his post (has a few thousand replies) and request one. If he doesnt get back to you, I can send you the info from my 78. Just drop a reply with your email and info about your car and he has been pretty quick about getting them over!
