Default Now what!! The head lights won't go down

I put a new brake booster in because i had a vacuum leak someplace. Everything seamed ok but now the headlights won't go back down. my mechanic said it be the carb as the vacuum leak.
Its not running rough and doesn't stall out. where should I start?

Double check all the vacuum lines. Make sure they are tight. If the wiper door works - you have a line crossed somewhere,

Wilcox Corvette has the diagram on their sight , follow it.

Also make sure the auxiliary pull down under the dash / steering column is pushed up.

The are two types of C3 Corvette owners in the world. Those that own a Mity-Vac, and those that will own a Mity-Vac.

:-)

I purchased a Scientific Vacuum pump at a garage sale, complete with the glass bottles and needle valves - 1hp. . The seller a real obnoxious SOB said it would not pump up his tires ,but the motor ran. I offered $5.00 and said I could fix it.

He laughed and said to his wife "see there is a sucker born every day - my wife near by just laughed.

When we go back to the car she said why did you buy it, I know you will fix it anyway. But it doesn't look like a regular pump. - I said I always needed a vacuum pump. We laughed so hard we almost pee-ed….

he wasn't wrong, he just didn't realize it was him that was the sucker.

as for the headlight issue since it only started after replacing the brake booster I would double check all of the lines in that area. Chances are one isn't right.

I just had the same problem.
Turns out it was the check valve in the headlight vacuum circuit on my '81.
