I'm in the process of rebuilding my driver side window regulator. I want to address other issues as long as the door is apart. The control rods shown in the picture are definitely bent. Are they supposed to be bent to straight?
Just looked at some of my pictures and mine all seem pretty straight, IIRC those were also fairly soft stuff and easily bent so yours might have been pushed or pulled at some time when someone was installing/removing the door panel (or handles, locks, etc) or even getting them to work by bending them some (rather than properly un-clipping and threading the ends in-out)
i just checked mine. put them on yesterday. the ones that go from the interior door lock to the door pivot look like that.
the slight bend is there because the door lock mech coupler distance is about 1/4 inch outset of the pivot point distance from door.
THe long interior handle to door mech looks straight
The lock pivot to door mech looks straight.
they have rubber bumpers slipped on to prevent ratteling that make the bars sit tightly against the door, its possible to bend easily trying to remove them since they are soft.
i guess the other rods may have slight bends on them too. I dont think it really matters. the rods motion shouldnt be effected to much/at all. just grease em up and put the lock clips
its very slight but on a technical level it makes sense to try and keep rod end insertion straight and smooth
