Default Saving my "81" barn find...Rebuild Thread

Hello to everyone out there & welcome to my barn find rebuild...I'm Mike, aka "Orlo" & I'm "7" months into the rebuild project of my "81" C3...I took on this project knowing my mechanical skills could do it & my ability to learn, read & listen to the people & manuals that know these cars will help me thru it...But first a little back story on the car..Spring of last year I decided to stop riding motorcycles on the street & look for a project car to replace my hobby of restoring motorcycles..Yes this is my first C3, but not my first car build..I found an ad for a Corvette that had an engine fire, had sat in a barn for 8 yrs untouched & needed some work..So I went & looked at it & what I found was this mess..but it had potential. So I looked it over, checked the frame & underside & decided to go home & do some research on Corvette problem areas, "Birdcage"..etc & look into what it would take.. I went back a week later & bought it knowing if it didn't work out I could part it out...Here's what I got..First I'll say I received a folder w/ all receipts for the parts & work done over a 4-5 yr period..The owner had purchased a new crate ZZ4 engine, had the tranny & rear end rebuilt & had a shop do all the work..All seemed to be fine until he decided to have a shop add a tri-power carb set-up to it..Story is that it backfired thru the rear carb, caught the air cleaner on fire & it all took off from there..After the fire had been put out, the damage under the hood was so significant, it got parked..The car was sold to the guy I bought it from, parked in the barn & was not touched again..that was 2010....Per the mileage on the receipt when the engine was installed up till the time I bought it, there was only 20k miles on the engine, tranny ..etc. Once I got it home I proceeded to clean it up to see what I was really working with..tons of pics taken, & a tear down began..The engine was locked up & the rest of the car a mess...Since the summer, I've gone thru the engine, replaced 4 wiring harness's, got it running again & am now replacing the entire interior... I look forward to any questions & comments & am happy to be here knowing that there are many knowledgeable people to turn to for help...Just a few random pics..More to follow.

To the comment above...Good catch, Let me clarify
- Owner who I purchased the car from..His son removed the tri-power set-up, which I got in the sale, tried to start the car by putting on the manifold you see, on it w/ another carb & jumping the starter w/ a battery because the wiring harness was fried..No luck there.
- Car had an aftermarket hood on it to clear the tri-power set-up that got burned in the fire..stock hood was stored & put back on the car....Jive now?
