Default Window weatherstrip problem...

Strange weatherstrip problem. Car trim tag says feb 69. so early 69 coupe. this is the strip i have shown in pic (not my car)

Cannot get the rear of the weather stripping back into place. There seems to be a steel insert inside the foam that wont allow it to go in and back. Anybody seem this before or have a solution?

Am I missing a notch in the glass for the seal to pass through. Almost looks like this one (not mine) does?

it's riveted to the car, might have to cut the rivet off and glue the weather strip back on. check it good first to make sure that's what the problem is

thanks but the problem is I can’t physically push the new weatherstrip in. It seems to tall. Here are pics of mine.
