Rules are needed but I was a bit disappointed a number of years back when I was trying to build a Vette specific fan controller that worked with factory senders etc.
Got warnings when I asked if people would be interested in buying such a device if my friend built it - given I was not a paying vendor of the forum.
We had working prototypes that we showed to Dewitt’s etc but decided to give up after the warnings stopped us talking about it to get the design correct.
i understood why but I thought it stifled innovation.

Ahaaaaaa….just what I needed as a reminder....I'll be removing the clip soon ti repair it...……......…...

It was coming aloose/separating itself because of rusted-out body mounts. The/your nose is coming along just in time for me to learn how-to!

Sorry D but I don't agree. This SCG car has more options then the prior 71 and the color is a popular one.

I guess I should explain that I use the forum to document my restores and work. I think this is a great place to do that. I did not start out that way with my 69 but life changes things along the way. I see many people asking for a certain model year car. People chime in with what they have for sale and for the most part not many of them are excepted by the original OP. Don't get that. I follow this area closely since I now find myself restoring these cars and at some point in time looking to sell them to fund my hobby. As I mentioned in the past at my age this is what keeps me going. I just feel at this time that when I finish one of these restorations there are better places to do that. I will list the 69 at some point but not here. I will when completed put this SCG car up for sale but not here. The forum shows the documented restores as well as help others along the way.
That's it folks, it's just my opinion and do not mean to discourage others from using the car for sale area. Many have had much success and that's great.
The end of this discussion.

Wish I was half as motivated as you Roger...

Great info you've provided.

I work by myself 99% of th time but can always count on the wife helping.. If I make an appointment Lol...

Funny thing is she was helping me pushing a non runner into the barn, my hand slipped and i broke big knuckle on 1st finger couple years ago. I blamed her.

I for one really appreciate the detailed process documentation you and several others have so graciously posted for the benefit of the rest of us. I am terrible about documenting while in the process of a job, so the fact that you do this is worth its weight in gold.

I am glad that people can get an idea of what it takes and how to go about trying different things that a few of us show continually. I sometimes go back and look at one of my projects from the start and it makes me realize that I am doing a lot and helping more people then I know. Many others do the same. Sharing, learning, challenging yourself and reaping the rewards of a nice job when you stand back is what it's all about. For me it really the journey but the end results are nice also. Thank You!

Completed most of the paint removal, the rest I can get once the clip is on the car. One of the patch's on the front fender was breaking down so I decided to remove it and make a splash mold. This way I won't have a pile of mat and putty inside the wheel well like before. Looks like I will have to do something on the top of the fender also. We'll see!

Most of the red is off, still have the primer to wash off.

The bad patch work that I decided to remove and clean up.

Work in progress removing the breaking down body patch.

Also a work in progress is the applying of the splash mold. This will make the inside fender well a lot cleaner.

Okay, so nothing but some boring pictures of body repairs for those interested. Completed most of the small repairs to the clip for the 71. Once things are the way I want I will go ahead and blacken out the engine compartment. Then mock it up on the car.
That's it for now!

Removed al of the bad mat and bondo.

Splash mold!

Almost there.Top of fender had more bad mat and plenty of Bondo.

Top of fender had more bad mat and plenty of bondo,

fixed with a lot smaller area then before.

Both sides were damaged in the same areas.

Cleaned and some fresh matting.

Completed for now, until fitted on car.

This side not as bad but still needs attention.

Cleaned up and ready for some VPA!

Almost there!

Stuff kind of missing on under fender area.

Good to go after finding all that was needed.

Inner fender missing flange to hold shield.

New flange aligned and set.

Missing a piece on the driver inner fender for the rubber sheild mounts.

Repair in progress but you get the idea.

A lot of work Roger to get the front back into shape, but you have the experience to make it happen in short order.
