I have a project 1969 coupe. It’s an original 427 4 speed that has sat for years. It doesn’t run, I’m in the process of restoring it. First time I pushed it ourside to give it its first wash in years I learned about the rear plenum drain hoses. Mine had one missing and the other was in two pieces. Lucky for me the carpet and seats were removed so sopping up the water in the car was no problem.
i ordered two plenum drain hoses online and are ready to install them.i drilled out the rivets holding the hoses. However, I’m not sure how to removed the cover on the outside of the passenger compartment. It looks like the frame is in the way. Can these be installed without removing the body from the frame.

If you’re talking about these the frames no problem
When we replaced our, we used small stainless steel nuts & bolts to make it easier next time. My youngest son recently did this job for a friend of ours on his 70 coupe.
You CAN reach the nut & bolt at the same time, but it`s better if you have help..
Yes, I see where it comes out now and it is accessible. Thanks for your help. I bought the kit to use rivets like originally installed and will use them. Thanks again, you guys know your stuff.
It's best if you have some help. The tube and plate go in from outside. I put the rivets in from inside while my son held the plate on the outside. He let me know when the rivet was pushed all the way in. Take the wheels off. Gives you more room.
As with most things when working on the inside of these cars, you almost have to be a contortionist to get to it all. All in all not a hard job. And always feels good to have another thing working like it should.
