Default 1972 lug nuts markings??

Hello all, I know this is petty but I am trying to find out what markings the lug nuts had for a 1972 small block with a December 71 build date.

I cant find any reference for it.

Thanks Ike

Last February Tfringo here on the forum mentioned 5, maybe 6 types.

Waffle
Triangle
Diamond
RBW
DMC
And possibly no stamp or a large circle around the face.

Good news is if it's not documented no one can say yours are wrong.

I actually called a dealership with the part number and they gave me all the dealerships in the Ohio, Michigan, Indiana area that had any in listed in stock. When I called, I asked specifically for those with DMC stamping, and that seemed to be the majority of them.

I called enough places to get a set of 20. Paid more in shipping than what the nuts cost.

Interesting question, and I never looked close at any c3 lug nuts. Too cold to go out and look now for any markings. NCRS does not judge lug nuts and does ask to remove hub cap.

Does or does not ask to remove caps?

My typing mistake, Does Not ask to remove the cap. Thanks for the correction.

Hey thanks all especially BarryB.. Interesting and even more interesting that NCRS doesn't judge them. I assumed they looked at everything!!!!

I know its a small piece but why not get it right if possible!! Ike
