Ralph,
i had the same thing back when I had my 69 convertible, they are blemish tires , not perfect, I don’t think they passed DOT . When I got my NYS inspection they wouldn’t pass inspection. I don’t think they will pass with NCRS .
thanks
Mark F.

it ain't cheatin' as long as you don'tget caught
some asphalt circle tracks have tire rules. car has to buy tires issued by track; they're used tires from other series. when tires are issued their serial numbers are recorded by race official. Cars like NEW tires much better but not permitted … what they don't know won't hurt 'em right? Gone to other tracks and bought brand new skippys in advance. There's a few guys around that know just how hot you can heat a "brand" and "wipe" the new tires' numbers. Then heat the characters from various number stamp sets and Rebrand the tire. I've been in the hauler and seen it done. It works! and when done by the right guy it passes post race tech. New skippys versus old are MUCH faster.
Right guy should have no trouble making yours disappear.
-edit- above is sort of a secret that lotsa folk know about & are doing it. Track knows too so they sometimes try to confound the wise guys by last minute picking some color spray paint & spritzing a particular spot on tire. Soooo … Keep hauler cabinets full of every dang color we could find.
